Bio

Kellie J. Manning joins The Bruins Club as a retired General Motors Engineering and Tooling Supervisor and a dedicated supporter of Mott Community College Basketball since 2000. Born in Jayess, Mississippi, he graduated from Alcorn State University with a degree in Social Studies,a  minor in Sociology, and a Teaching Certificate in 1973. Shortly after graduation, Kellie moved to Flint, MI, to begin his career with General Motors. With over 36 years at General Motors, Kellie retired in 2008. Following retirement, he returned to the Flint community to be closer to and spend time with his family, which included attending and supporting Mott Bears Basketball. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Kellie, along with his brothers and friends, has attended the NCAA Men’s Final Four Basketball Championship for the last 45 years.

An active member of Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle, Kellie has served on the Finance Committee, Security in Ministry through the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department, and the Golf Outing Committee. He is also a proud member of the Alcorn State Alumni Association – Flint Chapter. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, traveling, and attending local high school sporting events. Kellie has two daughters, Kenisha Manning and Nia Manning.
