LaVallier hits walk-off HR, Bears split DH
GRAND BLANC, Mich. - The Mott Community College baseball team opened a four-game series against Macomb Community College with a doubleheader on Thursday at Grand Blanc High School.
The Bears rallied in game one and walked off on a home-run by John LaVallier to take the opener 7-6. Mott's offense scuffled in game two, falling 7-0 to settle for a split. The results move Mott to 3-14 overall and 3-4 in the MCCAA.
Player of the Week: Trenton Kriewaldt earned MCCAA Player of the Week honors, it was announced on Wednesday. In three games last week, Kriewaldt recorded six hits, two doubles, a home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored.
Game One Highlights:

LaVallier was 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs, a stolen base, and a run scored.

Ryan Metz added a hit, two runs, and a sacrifice.

Luke Trotter and Timothy Geottes each added a hit and an RBI.

Conor Sweeny started and went five innings on the mound for Mott. He allowed four runs on eights hits, while walking four and striking out four.

Aidan Cassidy (1-1) got the win in relief, going two innings, allowing two runs on one hits, and walking three.

Pen Proulx (0-1) took the loss, pitching four innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits, while striking out two.
