Mott Community College announced the hiring of Ryan Trevithick as the new Women’s Basketball Head Coach in April 2025.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ryan and his family into our Bear Community,” Mott Acting Athletic Director Roger Christensen. “His energy, leadership, and vision for the program align perfectly with our mission to support student success in every aspect.” 

Coach Trevithick brings a deep passion for the game and a strong commitment to empowering student-athletes both on and off the court. With a clear focus on player development, academic excellence, and competitive success, he is dedicated to preparing our young women to thrive at the next level—both as students and as athletes—as they transfer to four-year colleges.

Trevithick joins Mott after coaching the Powers Catholic High School girls basketball team since 2020. He has also served as the Deputy Director of the Michigan Mystics since 2019. From 2015-2019, Trevithick was an assistant coach for the Saginaw Valley State University women’s basketball team. He was also a student-athlete as a member of the soccer team at SVSU from 2004-2008.

Mott welcomes Coach Trevithick and his family—his wife, Krista, and their four children: Richard, Katherine, Alexander, and Benjamin. Christensen added, “We are excited to have them join our Bear family and look forward to the positive impact Coach Trevithick will have both on and off the court!”
